Denmark’s largest retailer selects Stibo Systems’ STEP MDM solution to improve time-to-market
Aarhus, Denmark, 11 May 2015 – Dansk Supermarked, Denmark’s largest retail group, has selected Stibo Systems’ Master Data Management (MDM) solution to optimise and manage its product information both online and in store.
With 1,400 stores serving 1.4 million customers across four major retail chains, Dansk Supermarked currently updates hundreds of thousands of item numbers and associated product descriptions, labels, photos and more, on a daily basis, on many different systems and eCommerce platforms. Until now this has been a manual process, which has restricted the company’s ability to introduce new products quickly to its stores and eCommerce channels.
By deploying Stibo Systems’ STEP MDM solution, Dansk Supermarked will be able to onboard products more quickly and efficiently, streamlining the enhancement, versioning and sharing of product information across all channels. This will allow the company to speed up time-to-market for both its physical and digital channels, and ensure a consistent and seamless customer experience.
“There is a large growth potential in our stores as well as online, where we have no physical restraints – but it requires agility to capitalise on this,” says Kenneth Nielsen, Dansk Supermarked’s global digital director. “Managing product data is a time consuming task. That’s why we’ve invested in STEP, with its strong, scalable infrastructure that will allow us to grow without the need for heavy administrative processes.”
“We look forward to working with Dansk Supermarked and supporting the growth of both their physical and eCommerce offerings,” adds Mikael Lyngsø, Stibo Systems’ CEO. “Retail is an ever-changing landscape. Consumers are becoming more sophisticated and demand a consistent experience regardless of the touchpoint they use. Retailers need to be agile and use their master data to create a seamless omni-channel customer experience.”
Dansk Supermarked is the largest retail group in Denmark. It operates four major retail chains: Bilka, Føtex, Netto and Salling, of which Netto is also present in Sweden, Germany, and Poland as well as the UK in partnership with Sainsbury’s. All in all, Dansk Supermarked owns 1.400 retail stores which serve 1.4 million customers.
