London/Aarhus, March 16, 2022 – Ocado Retail, the UK’s only ‘pure play’ online grocer, is paving the way for a new e-commerce system by choosing Stibo Systems’ multidomain Master Data Management (MDM) solution. Ocado Retail, responsible for Ocado.com and its same day delivery service Ocado Zoom, aims to leverage the new solution to ensure a positive shopping experience for its customers; scale the business and grow revenue; and improve operational efficiency.
Implemented as a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service solution, Stibo Systems Enterprise Platform (STEP) will replace Ocado’s legacy in-house systems and accelerate the deployment of the Ocado Smart Platform. The five-year deal includes licenses for multiple data domains, including product, supplier and location, that will be used by internal Ocado Retail users across supply chain, buying, merchandising, product technology compliance and finance, as well as external suppliers.
Kieren Johnson, Head of IT at Ocado Retail, says: “We’re delighted to partner with Stibo Systems to provide an even better e-commerce experience to our customers. The platform will help to underpin and accelerate our transformation, as Ocado continues its growth as the fastest-growing grocery retailer in the UK.”
Ocado Retail chose Stibo Systems as the technology perfectly suited their use case for online grocery retail.
“Ocado is at the leading edge of innovation in retail. As one of their customers, I know,” says Adrian Carr, CEO of Stibo Systems. “They have made online grocery shopping easy and engaging for its customers, and it all started with data management. Whilst the initial implementation of our platform will focus on product and supplier data, including supplier portal with self service module, it will also be an enabler for the innovative Ocado Smart Platform. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial collaboration with Ocado Retail to help them to achieve their current and future growth goals.”
